Antminer D3 is the first Dash miner based on X11 algorithm released by Bitmain. With the hashrate as high as 19.3G, it is suitable for all cryptocurrencies based on X11 algorithms including Dash.
Now, EastShore will bring the evaluation on Antminer D3 as follows.
Antminer D3 is packed in five-layer industrial carton with complete logistics warehousing label, product barcode and brand logo.
The miner is wrapped with suspended EPE foams to effectively ensure safe transportation.
One user manual is attached inside.
Like the other Antminer series, Antminer D3 adopts the dual-fan design in the front and rear with compact, sturdy and beautiful alloy casing.
Seen from above, we can see the miner consists of three hashboards (each has 60 chips developed by Bitmain), on the top of which there are three PCI-E 6pin power interfaces and three data cables connecting to the controller.
One warning label is attached on the side.
In the rear of miner is a cooling fan (air outlet this side) and its specifications: 12CM-12V2.7A.
Another side of the miner.
On the front of miner are IP button, network cable socket, reset button, status light, Antminer logo, QC label and front fans to take in air.
Bottom of the miner.
The data cable interface adopts buckle design to ensure tight contact for the sake of stable data transmission.
Physical parameters of the miner are as follows:
Installation and Setting-up
The installation and test of Antminer D3 is similar to that of other Bitmain miners. Please refer to: Tutorial: Antminer D3 X11 ASIC Miner for Dash Mining
Once the setup is completed, the miner starts running tens of seconds later. The real-time status is shown on the mining status page.
Status lights to show normal running of the miner.
The test uses Antminer APW5-12-2600-A2 power supply (2600w GOLD). The indoor noise in this test is about 40dB, the indoor temperature is about 23℃ during the day and about 13℃ at night.
With default frequency of 550M and long-term running, the average hashrate is about 17-22.5GH/s, averagely 19.3GH/s, whose curve is stable without obvious fluctuations.
The tested power is 1190w.
Overclocking concept: Each miner is slightly different from each other based on their own qualities, raise two to three frequency gears every time on the premise of stable operation.
The frequency is raised to 569M and the real-time hashrate is about 20GH/s.
The tested power is 1218w.
In terms of noise, during normal operation when fan speed in daytime is about 4200-4500 rpm, the measured noise about 20cm away from the miner is about 79dB.
The default setting of fan speed is automatically adjusted based on ambient temperature. During normal operation when the temperature is low at night, the fan speed drops to about 3500-3800 rpm, and the measured noise about 20cm away is about 66.7dB.
In terms of temperature, the hashboard temperature shown on mining status page is 53℃。When the chip temperature is 72℃, the measured temperature at air inlet is 22.8℃.
The measured temperature at air outlet is 30.5℃.
- Antminer D3 runs stably with a measured hashrate of 19.3GH/s and power consumption of about 1190W, roughly equivalent to the official parameters.
- Antminer D3 is suitable for all cryptocurrencies based on X11 algorithm.
- It owns a certain amount of overclocking space (depending on the actual situation of each miner).
- When the indoor temperature is high, the noise is a little high, the fan can be automatically adjusted, the lower temperature, the lower noise.
- Good heat dissipation results from the high-speed cooling fans and sealed air duct, no big temperature difference between front and rear.
- Simple and convenient control, stable operation, compact structure, suitable for various mining situation.
